At EMA4KIDS Legacy Foundation, we are excited to introduce Chom Bagu, a renowned peacebuilding and governance expert, as one of our new board members. With decades of experience in conflict transformation, governance, and grassroots development, Mr. Chom brings invaluable expertise and passion to our mission of raising positive leaders of change, agents of peace, and examples of excellence.
Professional Experience Mr. Chom has held several senior leadership positions, including:
Country Director of Search for Common Ground (Nigeria), where he led conflict transformation and governance programs.
Senior Advisor on Conflict and Governance at Search for Common Ground.
Conflict Advisor with USAID Nigeria.
National Program Director for the Office of Transition Initiatives under the U.S. State Department.
Country Director of MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates), an agro-processing NGO.
Currently, Principal Partner at Infinite Horizons, a consultancy for peacebuilding, governance, and conflict management.
Beyond these roles, Mr. Chom has worked with numerous international and local organizations, including ARD, MISEREOR (Germany), International IDEA, International Alert, and the JDPC of Abuja. He also served for six years as President of Community Action for Popular Participation, reflecting his deep commitment to grassroots empowerment and citizen participation.
Education and Skills: He holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, along with specialized professional training in conflict transformation, project management, and program evaluation.
